Programme
A working foundation in general chemistry and physics at undergraduate level — bonding, thermodynamics, basic quantum concepts and reaction kinetics. Prior nanomaterials experience is helpful but not required. You do not need laboratory access at any point.
The guided cohort pace is roughly four hours per week over fifteen weeks, including video, reading and assessment. Module 02 is the heaviest. Access never expires, so you can compress or extend that schedule freely. Median completion is thirteen weeks.
Yes. All lectures, slides, assessments, office hours and support are delivered in English, with full English subtitles on every video. We recommend CEFR B2 or above. The certificate is issued in English with an Italian companion transcript.
Both. Lessons are pre-recorded so you can study at your own pace, and faculty hold fortnightly live office hours of sixty minutes. Those sessions are recorded and indexed by topic if your timezone makes attendance impractical.
No. The programme is designed for people who may not have instrument access. Characterisation is taught using real anonymised datasets that we supply, and all analysis is done with free or browser-based tools.
You can watch in any order and skip freely — nothing is gated. However, all four module quizzes and the final examination must be passed for certification, regardless of how much video you watched.
Certification
No. It is a Certificate of Advanced Professional Training issued by ATTIMAR S.A. OÜ, carrying the scientific patronage mark of IUL — Università Telematica degli Studi. It does not confer academic title and does not carry ECTS/CFU credit. We state this plainly because ambiguity helps nobody at a hiring panel.
It is a formal Italian instrument by which a university endorses the scientific merit of an initiative. IUL reviewed the syllabus, lesson-level learning outcomes, faculty credentials and assessment design before granting it. Patronage is renewed annually, contingent on continued compliance.
No. There is no expiry, no renewal fee and no subscription. The verification record remains permanently queryable at our verification endpoint.
Every certificate carries a unique identifier in the format ATT-IUL-YYYY-XXXX. Anyone can enter it on the certification page to see the holder name, programme, issue date and result. No account is required.
Two resit attempts are included in your tuition at no extra cost. Roughly 9% of each cohort does not pass at the first attempt; almost all pass on the second. If all three attempts are unsuccessful we issue a statement of participation instead, and you keep full materials access.
Fees & refunds
All 28 lessons, every downloadable resource, the four module quizzes, live office hours, the final examination plus two resits, the certificate itself, and lifetime access to materials including future updates. There are no upsells — we do not sell certificate upgrades or premium support tiers.
Yes: three payments of €520 (€1,560 total, no interest), taken at enrolment, week five and week ten. The certificate is issued once the final instalment clears. All other access is identical from day one.
Yes. A full refund is available within fourteen days of enrolment provided you have completed less than 20% of the programme. No justification is required. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within ten working days.
Six part-funded places are reserved per cohort for doctoral candidates and for applicants from lower-income economies, covering 40–70% of tuition. Mention it in your application. Team pricing starts at five seats, from €1,120 per participant.
In most cases yes. We issue compliant EU invoices with reverse-charge VAT handling where applicable, accept purchase orders for team enrolments, and can supply the syllabus and patronage documentation that L&D departments typically request.
Technical
A broadband connection of at least 5 Mbps, a current browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge), and the ability to open PDFs. The portal is fully responsive, so phone and tablet study work properly rather than nominally.
Slides, datasheets and templates are downloadable. Videos are streamed only, but the portal supports resumable playback and bandwidth-adaptive quality down to 240p for constrained connections.
Online, within a two-week window you choose. The session is browser-locked and recorded, with a live proctor available for technical issues. You need a webcam and a quiet room; no software installation is required.
All data is processed under GDPR on EU-hosted infrastructure. We do not sell data or share it with advertisers. Examination recordings are deleted ninety days after the result is confirmed. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Support
Academic questions are answered by faculty within two working days, and usually much faster during office-hours weeks. Administrative and technical queries are answered within one working day.
Yes, once, at no cost, up to seven days before your cohort's live sessions begin. Since materials access never expires, deferral only affects which office-hours group you join.
Yes — a moderated discussion space organised by module rather than a single undifferentiated chat channel. Faculty read it; alumni retain access after certification.
All videos carry accurate English subtitles and downloadable transcripts. The portal targets WCAG 2.1 AA. Extra examination time and alternative formats are available on request — just ask, no medical documentation required.
